Simple Ways To Mobilize Your Friends

Everyone should be involved in seeing God glorified among all nations. There are still many who do not know the global heart of God in the Bible and are unaware of the global status of the progress of the gospel. And there are some who simply need to be invited to join in God’s work.

The goal of mobilization is awareness that leads to action. And it doesn’t have to be difficult! There are many simple ways you can mobilize your friends to join you in actively participating in God’s story to gather worshippers from all nations. Below are a few examples.

God’s Word: Discuss a few scriptures from the Global Thread. You can remember them with five words; Purpose, Problem, Promise, Plan and Picture.

Purpose:  Read Genesis 1:28. What was God’s original purpose in the first words to Adam and Eve?

Problem: Read Genesis 11:4. What was significant about the problem that happened at the Tower of Babel?

Promise: Read Genesis 12:1-3. What was the significance of the promise to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and given also to those who belong to Christ (Gal. 3:29)?

Plan: Read Luke 24:44-47. What is significant about how Jesus opened the minds of the disciples to understand God’s plan?

Picture: Read Revelation 7:9-10. How should this final picture impact our current priorities?

God’s World: Show your friend a map of the world focusing on the 10/40 window, describing current realities.

  • According to the Joshua Project, there are over 17,000 people groups in the world today. Over 7,000 of those people groups are what we call an unreached people group. An unreached people group is a people group that either has no Christians or not enough Christians to evangelize their own people. They still need missionaries.
  • About 88% of all unreached people groups in the world live in the 10/40 window and about 98% of all the individuals who live in unreached people groups live in the 10/40 window. That is 3.1 billion of the 8 billion people in the world today.
  • There are 3,000 unengaged people groups that are unreached people groups that have no missionary working among them. 59% of Muslim people groups, 43% of Buddhist people groups and 34% of Hindu people groups are unengaged with the gospel. There are no missionaries living among them.
  • For every dollar given in U.S. churches, one penny goes to work in the 10/40 window.
  • Only about one out of ten missionaries sent from U.S. churches goes to the 10/40 window. Nine out of ten go to places already reached with the gospel.
  • Only 1% of Bible distribution is aimed at languages in the 10/40 window. 1,800 languages don’t have any scripture translated. That is millions of people without any word of God in their language.

God’s Work: Invite your friends to join you in the different ways of living as a Global Christian.

Welcomer: Invite a friend to an ethnic market or restaurant in your area. Get into a conversation with someone and discover two or three things unique to this person and their culture.

Intercessor: Invite a friend to pray with you for unreached peoples in one country in the world at Prayercast.

Goer: Invite a friend to join you in watching a movie about a goer. Here are two movies we recommend: Ee-Taow: The Mouk Story and Ends of the Earth.

Sender: Invite a friend to join you for a Zoom meeting or meal to get to know a missionary that your church supports.Mobilizer: Invite your friend to join you as you share with a small group what you learned at Engage Global.
